Abalos

Serene, spacey and sleek, Abalos is the forward-facing, futuristic, retro-like, space-exploring typeface you’re looking for – designed in the face of humanity’s next big adventure… Mars exploration. Abalos is befitted with the usual swashes and symbols to stake its claim in the (as yet unwritten) aesthetic of human life on the red planet.

Taking its name from one of Mars’ sand dunes, the typeface’s letterforms look closer to home for their inspiration, taking undulating influence from desert-like waves of Middle Eastern topology. Alongside this, some further restrained Arabic references can be seen within Abalos’ cursive features. Finding a fresh footing in the combination of the past and speculative future – predicting what the two (may) together look like.
